The Grain Belt Express has won approval in Kansas and Indiana. Missouri regulators have blocked the effort.

The Environmental Protection Agency announced Wednesday that Southern Indiana Gas and Electric Company has agreed to install pollution control equipment expected to reduce sulfuric acid emissions from both power plants by approximately 1,400 tons each year.

Duke says its revised $1.83 billion plan complies with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission's request to explain its costs and confine modernization projects to its grid. But the consumer watchdog group Citizens Action Coalition says it will keep fighting the revised plan.
