The U.S. Department of Education has developed a new smartphone app that it hopes will make the notoriously difficult Free Application For Federal Student Aid a little easier.

A new Purdue University grant aims to cover the tuition gap for in-state students earning a first bachelor's degree.

This Saturday is the deadline for Indiana students to fill out their application for college financial aid, including the federal Pell Grant.

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education extended the deadline by about a month, making next Saturday the final day to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, known as FAFSA.

Financial aid professionals will provide college-bound students with free assistance on Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. at 42 sites in Indiana for College Goal Sunday.
