Wednesday is the 50th Earth Day. To mark the occasion, the Hoosier Environmental Council hosted a roundtable discussion with three environmental pioneers who once worked at the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.

Two environmental groups made good on their promise to sue steelmaker ArcelorMittal on Wednesday.

The groups first threatened suit in May when the Fish and Wildlife Service missed its deadline to respond to their petition to list the lake sturgeon. The agency has since responded, but now its missed its next deadline in the process.

The group will talk about some of those at their annual Greening the Statehouse event Saturday, Nov. 16.

The Hoosier Environmental Council and Improving Kids' Environment announced their merger last week.

The environmental groups are giving ArcelorMittal, state and federal regulators 60 days to take action or else theyll sue.
