Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller has submitted a friend of the court brief saying he believes the University of Notre Dame police department should be subject to the state's open records law.

The Citizens Action Coalition, Common Cause Indiana and the Washington D.C.-based Energy and Policy Institute filed a lawsuit in May under the Access to Public Records Act, or APRA, after the House GOP caucus denied them access to emails between Bedford Rep. Eric Koch and several utility companies.

The Indiana House Republican Caucus is facing a lawsuit over its decision to withhold emails shared between one of its members and several utility companies.
