The Indianapolis hip-hop group 81355 (pronounced Bless) have been called an Indianapolis supergroup.

The Indianapolis-based rock trio Cairo Jag are this month’s featured Small Studio Sessions artist. Cairo Jag are gaining notoriety for their pounding, hard-edged sound.

The composer and clarinetist Eric Salazar describes his work as “newly composed” classical music. His recent solo performance for Small Studio Sessions included improvisation, digital effects, and a 3D printed clarinet.

Pianist Monika Herzig, and guitarist Peter Kienle have been playing jazz music in Indiana for over 30 years. WFYI’s Kyle Long spoke with Herzig and Kienle after their recent performance for Small Studio Sessions.

The Indianapolis-based band Queen Delphine and the Crown Jewels blends blue styles, helmed by singer Harriet Ellis – the queen herself. WFYI's Matthew Socey learned more about Queen Delphine's journey through the blues.

Hip-hop artist Marc Williams has been creating music under the name Mr. Kinetik for over a decade. Williams recently recorded a live set for Small Studio Sessions, and he brought along an all-star group of musicians - including the legendary Indianapolis vocalist and emcee Rusty Redenbacher. Dana Skully and the Tiger Sharks are this month's featured Small Studio artists. They're an Indianapolis-based band that describes their sound as "dream pop-punk to make your brain cry.” The group is led by 23-year-old singer-songwriter Dana Skully.
