The law signed last month by Gov. Mike Pence overturns a requirement for physicians and patients to meet in person before a prescription can be written.

Telemedicine is health care delivered remotely. Doctors and patients can use, for instance, videoconferencing instead of a face-to-face appointment.

Legislation that would allow people to get prescriptions without an in-person exam or visit from a healthcare provider is headed to the Senate. But, some lawmakers aren't comfortable taking steps forward in "telemedicine" services.
