President-elect Joe Biden is set to introduce former South Bend mayor Pete Buttigieg on Wednesday as his nominee for transportation secretary.

A $22.5 million grant will be used to make improvements to Interstate 70 in Hancock County east of Indianapolis, including adding a third lane in each direction. Another $5 million grant will be used to upgrade U.S. 36 in Avon.

The United States Department of Transportation has awarded Indiana $177.5 million for two projects one in Lake County and the other in Indianapolis.
