In 2015, one of the biggest wild lions in Zimbabwe's Hwange National Park was lured out of the animal reserve and killed by an American dentist and trophy hunter. Cecil was tragically destined to become one of Africa’s most famous animals. While his demise was splashed across the media, sparking fury and sadness in many, Cecil’s life leaves a noteworthy impact on conservation research.
