About the Event

Join the Economic Club of Indiana for a lively event on March 19, 2026, as we welcome Richard Reeves, Author/Founder/President of the American Institute of Boys and Men.

Richard Reeves is the premier expert in the country of the myriad ways that boys and young men have been falling behind in school and in life. This is reflected in his book, Of Boys and Men: Why the Modern Male is Struggling, Why It Matters, and What to Do About It. The book, which David Brooks of The New York Times described as a "landmark" work, was named as one of the best books of the year by The Economist and The New Yorker. In 2023, after the publication of the book, Reeves founded the American Institute for Boys and Men. He serves as its President, and is also a Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution.

In conjunction with his visit, and aligned with his work, the Sagamore Institute in Indianapolis is conducting a study of the extent of this problem in Indiana, and potential solutions for policymakers. Reeves will comment on the initial findings of that study as part of his address.
