AG Asks 7th Circuit Court Of Appeals For Stay

Attorney General Greg Zoeller is asking the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals to halt the effects of the recent ruling striking down Indiana’s ban on same sex marriage.

Zoeller previously filed a motion for a stay with District Court Judge Richard Young, but Young hasn’t yet responded.  Zoeller says confusion has ensued and wants a quick answer from the Appeals Court.

He says, without a stay, marriages that have already taken place could be invalid if the Supreme Court sides with states in a future same sex marriage case.
