PLAINFIELD, Ind. (AP) — City government and law enforcement agency officials will hold a community forum at Plainfield High School to address recent online threats.
Plainfield Police Department Capt. Jill Lees says the Jan. 19 forum will allow people to share concerns and ask questions.
The Indianapolis Star reports that continued threats to the school, a movie theater and area stores have surfaced on Facebook since Dec. 16.
In response, classes were cancelled on the last day before winter break, and some stores and a movie theater were evacuated.
On Saturday night, a new Facebook account threatened violence when students returned to school. Lees says police have had a stronger presence in the area since classes resumed.
FBI officials, the U.S. Attorney's office and Plainfield police declined to comment about homes that were searched or suspects that were questioned Jan. 5.
