"Disturbing": Pedestrian Run Over Four Times, No One Stopped

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indianapolis police said four separate vehicles struck a man walking along a street and each left the scene without stopping.

The man, 68-year-old Michael Fink of Indianapolis, was pronounced dead at the scene on the city's west side Friday night.

Police Lt. Chris Bailey told The Indianapolis Star that "the fact that four people hit a person and didn't stop is disturbing."

Bailey said Fink had left a Veterans of Foreign Wars lodge about 8 p.m. and was walking along a street when he attempted to cross it and the first vehicle struck him. Two teenage witnesses told police that as Fink tried to crawl across the street, a second vehicle, possibly a SUV, also struck him. The witnesses said two other vehicles also then struck Fink.
