Invest in Our Planet is this year’s theme for Earth Day. While solving climate crisis can sometimes be daunting, thinking globally and acting locally and taking small steps towards action can create big change.

Thursday April 20

Earth Day Clean-Up
Join the Parks Alliance, Butler University, Indy Greenways Partnership and more to help clean up litter on the White River Trail near Riverside Adventure Park. Registered participants will pick up litter along the trail and along an access road connecting the Major Taylor Velodrome with White River Parkway. Gloves, trash bags and pickers will be provided for volunteers.

Friday April 21

Earth Day STEM Lab
To celebrate Earth Day, the Brownsburg Public Library is hosting a STEM Lab for school age children 6 to 10-years-old. Learn about non-renewable and renewable energy sources and how to conserve energy in your own home.
Where: Brownsburg Public Library, 450 S Jefferson St Brownsburg, IN 46112
When: 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Saturday April 22

Earth Day Celebration
The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis will host hands-on activities and hear from local experts on ways to combat the climate crisis. Continue the fun at home with Nine Earth Day Activities.
When: 10 a.m. to 3p.m.
Where: 3000 N Meridian St.
Cost: Free for members or with museum admission. Adult tickets $30.75; Youth tickets $26.25.

Re/Sprout POP UP
Celebrate Earth Day with a 21+ only event at a plant pop up and plant swap. Inventories will include common, uncommon plants, merchandise, moss poles.
When: 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Plant swapping will occur between 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Sunday April 23

Earth Day at the J Community Event
The Jewish Community Center is celebrating Earth Day with Israeli-themed activities, appetizers, desserts and more. Earth friendly vendor booths from local organizations and Jewish synagogues, hands-on activities about Israel such as adventures in science, a photobooth and a Bedouin tent. There will also be food trucks, Kosher food, a farmers’ market and an environmental obstacle course.
Who: Jewish Community Center, 6701 Hoover Rd
What: Israeli-themed activities, appetizers and desserts, tree sapling giveaway
When: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
