INDIANAPOLIS – Eight attorneys have applied for a position on the Indiana Court of Appeals that will open when Judge Ezra Friedlander retires this summer.
The state’s Judicial Nominating Commission will interview the candidates and review the applications before choosing three finalists to forward to Gov. Mike Pence, who will make the appointment.
The applicants are:
- Judge Robert Altice, Jr., Marion Superior Court
- Bryan Ciyou, Ciyou & Dixon, Indianapolis
- Stephen Creason, chief counsel, Indiana Attorney General’s office
- Judge Christopher Goff, Wabash Superior Court
- Patricia McMath, appellate attorney in the Marion County Public Defender Agency
- Judge Gary Miller, Marion Superior Court
- David Pippen, Bose McKinney & Evans, Indianapolis
- Joel Schumm, professor, Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law
The applicant names are public record and their applications will be if they are interviewed. Court officials said an announcement about interviews and details on how applications can be reviewed will be announced soon.
