I-65 Overnight Lane Closures Near Southport Road This Week

GREENWOOD, Ind. The Indiana Department of Transportation will close the left lanes of northbound and southbound Interstate 65 every night this week weather permitting between mile markers 102.0 and 103.5 while construction crews place pavement for a median crossover.

This crossover will be used to facilitate a major shift in traffic scheduled to begin after the July 4 holiday.

These lane closures begin tonight at 8 p.m. and continue through Friday night.  Restrictions will be lifted by 5 a.m. the following mornings.

The $35.9 million Major Moves 2020 project is reconstructing I-65 and adding auxiliary lanes between Southport Road on Indianapolis' southside and Main Street at Greenwood.

A second Major Moves 2020 added travel lanes project is getting underway between Main Street and State Road 44 at Franklin.
