IDEM Seeks Proposals To Reduce Great Lakes Toxic Pollutants

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana Department of Environmental Management is seeking proposals for ways to reduce toxic pollutants in the Great Lakes basin.

IDEM says the Great Lakes Air Deposition program will help educate the public about the impacts associated with the persistent chemicals in the environment surrounding the Great Lakes. IDEM says it hopes to help efforts to maintain the delicate ecosystem of the Great Lakes by working with leading scientists.

The available funding for the GLAD program operating under IDEM will be approximately $90,000. Successful applicants will be invited to enter into a grant agreement with IDEM to perform the work.

In the past, GLAD — under the efforts of the Great Lakes Commission and the Environmental Protection Agency — has supported more than 35 projects in the Great Lakes region.
