Indiana Utilities Predict Drop in Heating Bills

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana's major natural gas utilities are projecting slightly lower home heating prices for the coming winter.

Northern Indiana Public Service Co., Vectren and Citizens Energy Group all say that if winter temperatures are normal their customers could benefit from abundant natural gas supplies.

The companies say that supply has kept gas prices down despite increase demand during last winter's often-brutally cold temperatures across the Midwest.

Vectren says its customers across much of central Indiana are projected to have heating bills of about $550 over five months this winter. Vectren says those customers paid an average of $615 last winter.
