Indiana Youth Group Hosts 14th Annual Art Auction

Indiana Youth Group will host its annual Art Auction on May 10, from 7 – 10 p.m.

As IYG’s largest fundraiser of the year, all proceeds generated from the event will go directly to services and programming for the youths it serves.

Now in its 14th year, the Art Auction, presented by Fifth Third Bank, will take place at the Indiana Landmarks Center and will feature unique pieces of art from more than 100 local artists with both live and silent auctions.

“Each and every year, I am continually overwhelmed and impressed by the support this event attracts from our local community,” said Mary Byrne, executive director for IYG. “We act as a safe place for LGBT youth, a place for youth who have nowhere else to turn, and this event helps ensure we continually fulfill our mission and carry forth our duty to fight for equal rights for all.”

For the first time, IYG will introduce electronic bidding for its art items at the event, ensuring a more exciting auction environment and providing enhanced visibility for its artists and sponsors. The link to the electronic bidding site will be released two weeks prior to the event date.

The event will kick off with a VIP reception from 7 – 8 p.m., and general admission will take place from 8 – 10 p.m. VIP tickets are available for $55, and general admission tickets are available for $35. Individuals can also donate a ticket to the event for an IYG youth for $25. To purchase tickets for the event, to view photos from last year’s Art Auction, volunteer for the event or for more information, please visit http://indianayouthgroup.org/iyg-annual-art-auction.

Are you an artist, professional or local business who would like to donate items for this year’s art auction? Your help is also needed! Each year, the Art Auction showcases donated art pieces from professionals and amateurs, art created by our participating youth, celebrity items, and gift baskets and certificates from local businesses.

Those who would like to make a donation of art or other goods or services can fill out an online donation form or bring items to one of IYG’s Donation Days. From 4:30 to 7 p.m. on April 16 and 30, individuals can drop off donated items to IYG, located at 2943 E. 46th St. Donations received before April 25 will be showcased electronically during pre-bidding prior to the event. For more information contact IYG at (317) 541-8726.
