Morgan County Inmate Recaptured At Martinsville House

MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — A Morgan County Jail inmate who failed to return from a work-release program has been recaptured.

The Morgan County Sheriff's Office says 31-year-old James R. Baker was taken into custody without incident Wednesday afternoon. It says a tip led authorities to find Baker at a house on the north side of Martinsville.

Baker had not returned after work Tuesday morning.

WRTV-TV reports Baker was one of four inmates who worked overnight at a Mooresville business. They got off work around 3 a.m. One of the inmates drove all four back to the facility to check back in, but Baker did not do so.

Baker was serving time for a probation violation.
