New Library Interface Improves How Hoosiers Access Info

The Indiana State Library has launched a new version of Indiana's Virtual Online Library.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana State Library says it has launched a new version of Indiana's Virtual Online Library called INSPIRE.in.gov.

A collection of online academic databases, INSPIRE.in.gov is used by K-12 schools, universities, hospitals, and others.

State Librarian Jacob Speer says the system now has better search results and new features. He says the State Library has streamlined the interface so that users can easily access the information they seek. It also has local content that highlight historical newspapers and documents.

The online library is funded by the General Assembly and the Institute of Museum and Library Services and through a partnership with the Academic Libraries of Indiana.

Indiana cuts child care provider reimbursements to close funding gap

The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration is cutting voucher reimbursement rates for the Child Care and Development Fund. The agency said the cuts are meant to address a $225 million funding gap. The cuts range from 10 to 35 percent based on the child's age.
