President Obama is scheduled to speak at Ivy Tech Community College, just north of Fall Creek Parkway, around 2 p.m. Friday.

Traffic on the near northside of Indianapolis is expected to be interrupted for several hours this afternoon during President Barack Obama's visit to Ivy Tech Community College, 50 W. Fall Creek Parkway North Drive.

Before and after the speech there will be an escorted motorcade traveling between the airport and Downtown.  The exact route and times will not be released to the public, but the event is expected to take place between 1 – 5 p.m.  All traffic along the route will be stopped for some time as the motorcade passes.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area immediately north of Downtown, including Fall Creek Parkway, from noon to 1:30 p.m. and again from 3 to 5 p.m.  Closures along Meridian and Illinois streets should be expected during these times, as well.

Downtown streets within the Mile Square are not anticipated to be impacted.
