INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana Department of Natural Resources will host three public hearings next month to discuss a package of rule changes involving Indiana wildlife, hunting and fishing.
The proposed amendments include allowing high-powered rifles for deer hunting, a 25-fish daily bag limit on certain fish, and suspension of the ruffed grouse hunting season. A complete list of changes can be found here.
The first hearing is March 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Spring Mill State Park in Mitchell.
The second is March 17 at 3:30 p.m. at the Garrison Conference Center in Indianapolis.
The final meeting is March 25 at 5:30 p.m. at the DNR's Northeast Regional Office in Columbia City.
Public comments also are being accepted on the Indiana Natural Resources Commission's website.
