Tibbs To Close Between 10th, 16th Streets For Construction

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Department of Public Works announced today, that Tibbs Avenue from 10th Street to 16th Street will close on or after Aug. 10, for approximately one week.

This closure is a part of the construction improvements for the Tibbs Avenue and 10th Street intersection improvement project. Improvements to this intersection include new traffic signals, asphalt pavement widening, resurfacing, new concrete sidewalks, and the addition of ADA access ramps. 

During the closure, the following detour route will be posted:

Traveling Southbound on Tibbs Avenue: Turn left to head east on West 16th Street; turn right to head south on North White River Parkway West Drive; turn right to head west on West 10th Street;  turn left to continue heading south on Tibbs Avenue.

Traveling Northbound on Tibbs Avenue: Turn right to head east on West 10th Street; turn left to head north on North White River Parkway West Drive; turn left to head west on West 16th Street; turn right to continue heading north on Tibbs Avenue. (See graphic below.)
