PLYMOUTH, Ind. (AP) — Young women interested in agricultural careers will have the opportunity to learn more about them at a meeting in northern Indiana next month.

The Young Ladies of Agriculture Northern Indiana Forum is open to 100 young women in grades 8-12. It's being held in conjunction with the Midwest Women in Agriculture Conference from 4 to 8 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth.

Conference organizer and Purdue Extension-Kosciusko County director Kelly Heckaman says the forum is designed to provide an opportunity for young ladies interested in agriculture to learn about career opportunities available to them. She says women don't have to grow up on a farm to have a career in agriculture.

Registration costs $10 and includes dinner.
