The more than 2,400 fetal remains that were found in the garage of a doctor who performed abortions in Indiana were buried Wednesday.

The 2,411 sets of fetal remains that resulted from abortions Dr. Ulrich Klopfer performed in Indiana will be memorialized Wednesday at a graveside service in South Bend.

Attorney General Curtis Hill is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to rule on the constitutionality of a 2017 anti-abortion law.

The Indiana attorney general's office announced Wednesday additional fetal remains were found on properties owned by the late Dr. Ulrich Klopfer.

Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill said the remains were moved to Indiana because the St. Joseph County coroner was the first to step forward with the capacity for the investigation.

During the rally opposing the Whole Womans Health Alliance clinic, Attorney General Curtis Hill told a crowded church that he opposes abortion, but would remain objective.

U.S. District Judge Sarah Evans Barker on Friday denied Attorney General Curtis Hill's request for an immediate stay to prevent the clinic from opening until Indiana's appeal is considered.

Whole Womans Health Alliance has been trying to open a clinic in the northern Indiana city since 2017, but the state refused to issue a license.

The rally was part of a coordinated effort to protest recent anti-abortion legislation in states like Alabama and Georgia.

The federal lawsuit comes after the Indiana State Department of Health denied the Alliances original application.
