The NBA and Indiana Pacer said the COVID-19 pandemic prevented appropriate planning and execution of the activities envisioned for this February.

Indiana Fever great and four-time Olympic gold medalist Tamika Catchings was inducted into the 2020 Class of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Saturday.

The announcement came Thursday, following and order by Gov. Eric Holcomb that all Indiana schools remain closed until at least May 1.

Catchings was a four-time Olympic gold medalist for the U.S. and also a five-time winner of the WNBA defensive player of the year award. She led the Indiana Fever to their lone title in 2012 and Tennessee to an NCAA championship in 1998.

The University of Evansville has fired men's basketball coach Walter McCarty after an investigation revealed additional allegations of off-court misconduct. Former Butler coach Todd Lickliter was hired by the university late Tuesday to replace McCarty.

Catchings was the consensus national freshman of the year during the 1997-98 season. She later played 16 seasons with the Indiana Fever and won four gold medals with the U.S. Olympic team.
