Teachers in Indiana are learning to spot the warning signs that students might be considering killing themselves and how to help pupils cope with classmates' suicides or attempted suicides.

Recently the Climate Literacy & Energy Awareness Network reviewed more than 30,000 online resources to help teachers teach about climate change and found that only about 700 were reputable and could be used in schools.

More than 22,700 about a third of all teachers in the state have started the process to renew their licenses compared to just 514 at this time last year.

The new law requires teachers earn 15 of the 90 professional development points they need to renew their license, through workforce and career-navigation focused programs.
