The Friday Pitch-In
September 04, 2020
The Indiana State Board of Education wants to protect schools that open virtually, as some lawmakers threaten to withhold federal funding from schools that don’t offer in-person learning. And the state launches new tools to look at COVID-19 numbers. Today we get updates on these stories and more.
We also hear about a new report from Side Effects Public Media on cultural sensitivity in the fight against the coronavirus.
Plus, a snapshot of reopening at one Indianapolis elementary school, new reporting on how the pandemic has caused a significant decrease in preventative and routine doctor visits in rural areas, and a bittersweet send-off for our assistant producer Maggie Gelon.
Produced by Matt Pelsor.
