Are Efforts Around Gerrymandering Losing Steam?
March 30, 2021
The federal government is considering a change on how it defines metro areas. If it happens, some say it would destroy funding opportunities for a number of cities in Indiana.
Today we talk to U.S. Congressman Greg Pence about why he and other lawmakers have come out against the idea. We find out why the change is being considered in the first place, and how it might affect cities like Columbus, Muncie and Terre Haute.
We also catch up on the latest efforts around gerrymandering in Indiana. An amendment about redistricting was recently blocked by lawmakers. Some say while there used to be bipartisan support for some kind of redistricting reform, that’s become less true in recent years. What could be causing that?
