VIDEO: Candidates For IPS School Board Meet To Discuss The Issues

Ten candidates vying for three spots on the Indianapolis School Board gathered for a forum ahead of the Nov. 4 election at the Central Library Thursday night.

Candidates in three races – District 3, District 5 and a citywide at-large race – fielded questions on issues such as teacher pay and retention, class sizes, preschool and student behavior. But the hot topic of the night was charter schools.

About 100 people attended the debate hosted by Chalkbeat Indiana, WFYI and the Indianapolis Public Library.
