Indianapolis Public Schools Board OKs 2 More 'Innovation' Schools In Effort To Reshape District
The Indianapolis Public Schools took another step Thursday in its dramatic shift away from the traditional school district model to more collaboration with charter schools. Riverside School 44 will become Global Prep Academy, a Spanish and English immersion program. School 69 will become Kindezi Academy -- a program using online learning and classroom instruction created by the founders of Enlace Academy.

Ferebee, Other IPS Staff Did Not Report Sex Allegations To Child Services
Indianapolis Public Schools Superintendent Lewis Ferebee says employees face possible discipline for waiting six days to report allegations a counselor was having sex with a student. However Ferebee himself learned of the allegations on Feb. 17, but also did not report them to the Indiana Department of Child Services.

Higher pay and longer contract was approved for Superintendent Lewis Ferebee. The three-year school leader gets a 6 percent raise and performance-based bonus that could ultimately bump his pay to $287,000 annually.

Report: Pre-K Is Growing In Some Areas Of State
More kids in Indiana are enrolling in preschool programs and more are attending a program accredited through the state's Paths To Quality ranking system. The annual Kids Count report from the Indiana Youth Institute released these figures Monday.
