The Indiana Department of Transportation put an asphalt plant owned by a Fort Wayne contractor on probation while it was building a state highway that the agency says is crumbling years earlier than expected.

The Indiana Department of Transportation says it is staging the disaster-response exercises starting Monday at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center near North Vernon. The agency says the training sessions throughout the week will focus on earthquake and tornado emergencies.

The city of Fishers and INDOT proposed a solution to traffic woes that would be the first of its kind in the state at the I-69 and 106th Street interchange.

The intersection is along the detour established by the Indiana Department of Transportation after a 37-mile stretch of Interstate 65 northbound - from Lebanon to Lafayette - had to be closed because of a sinking bridge. The increased traffic volume has caused backups and raised concerns about safety.

Upset after a fatal accident involving a Lebanon woman Tuesday morning, Boone County Sheriff Mike Nielsen took to Facebook to vent and urge the Indiana Department of Transportation to install a stoplight at the intersection of U.S. 52 and State Road 47 -- part of the official detour northbound for Interstate 65, closed by bridge problems in Lafayette.

Indiana Department of Transportation officials believe they have a fix for the closed Interstate 65 bridge in Tippecanoe County. But, it'll still be several more weeks until that's in place.

It particularly seeks individuals with disabilities, disability advocates, or individuals who provide services to persons with disabilities. Members serve two-year terms and may serve two consecutive terms.
