Families of medically complex children say the state has thrown another “eleventh-hour curveball,” with less than two weeks before the state implements a major change to a Medicaid program.

Despite concerns about the implementation of a new Indiana Medicaid waiver program, state officials say the insurance companies in charge of the transition have met the readiness requirements. Medicaid members 60 years or older on the Aged and Disabled waiver will transition to a new service structure on July 1.

Hoosiers with disabilities or those who want to age in place will see significant changes to Medicaid services following the federal government's final approval to plans proposed by the state.
