POSITION DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Manager, Marketing
CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, Exempt, Salary
LOCATION: Indianapolis, IN
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
Work with the Chief Development and Marketing Officer on strategy, including audience engagement with the WFYI brand, cultivation and stewardship of donors and awareness on impact in the community.

Manage Marketing Team & Partnerships
- Guide overall marketing strategy and tactics for WFYI Public Media across all platforms with a focus on content and educational priorities, development and cultivation initiatives, events, national programming, and impact.
- Manage and provide leadership to a team of two or more direct reports, including overseeing workload, performance, and professional development.
- Serve as point of contact for internal collaboration, partnering with content, engagement and development teams to create and implement marketing initiatives, including local and national content, brand and fundraising initiatives.
- Manage, write and edit content for print, email, digital, TV, radio and social media platforms.
- Manage external marketing relationships, including budget, vendors, agencies, partners and other media outlets.
- Work with team on data related to marketing initiatives, including funder reporting, audience analysis and platform-specific outcomes.
- Maintain and elevate the WFYI brand to raise visibility of WFYI’s impact in the community. Ensure consistency in messaging and visual representation in all departments’ use of brand.
- Develop and implement strategies to elevate WFYI’s profile as a thought leader in both local and national public media.
- Assist with internal and external communications, collaboratively working with all organizational departments in support of WFYI’s strategic plan.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience unless otherwise noted below.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication or related field
- 5-7 years of demonstrated experience as an effective marketing leader or similar role
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Required:
- History of successfully managing and implementing marketing campaigns on multiple platforms, including broadcast, digital and social platforms
- Proven ability to manage, develop, and motivate a team of two or more direct reports
- Understanding of marketing strategies, campaign, deliverables and outcomes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in marketing software and tools
- Ability to think creatively, strategically with a focus on tactics and results
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred:
- Familiarity with public broadcasting
- Computer proficiency with familiarity with Microsoft products (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Canva
