The newly-elected Joe Hogsett, the Democrat preparing to become the next mayor of Indianapolis, has named the leaders of his transition team.

Hogsett held a press conference Friday afternoon to introduce his brain trust for the next two months.

"I will rely heavily on the advice and counsel of not only these three leaders but the transition team as a whole," he said.

Those three leaders are:

  • Rep. André Carson (D-Indianapolis)
  • Former Lt. Gov. Kathy Davis
  • Indy Chamber President Michael Huber

Hogsett says he’s taking over a government that’s in “good and sound condition.”

Huber was a deputy for economic development under outgoing Republican Mayor Greg Ballard before leaving to take over the Indy Chamber three years ago. Both Hogsett and Davis served in the administration of former Gov. Evan Bayh.
