New IPS President Mary Ann Sullivan: Time To Put Changes Into Place
The Board of School Commissioners unanimously choose former-legislator Mary Ann Sullivan at its new president today. A vocal advocate for transforming IPS -- by empowering principals, partnering with outside groups and creating a cheaper, smaller central office staff -- Sullivan was enthusiastic that those plans are finally coming to fruition.

Marion County Superintendents: ISTEP Is Not The 'Marker Of Our Students'
Only three out of 12 Marion County public school corporations saw more than half their students pass both the English and math portions of the ISTEP exam. Franklin Township had the highest passage rate at nearly 66 percent. Indianapolis Public Schools was the lowest at 29 percent.
