Wednesday's open house and presentation focused on INDOT's "System-Level Analysis" conducted in response to community input on the future of I-65 and I-70.

INDOT says a formal groundbreaking ceremony for the project is planned for April 6.

The $143 million project would add a lane for both northbound and southbound traffic on a 14-mile section between U.S. 50 in Seymour and Indiana 58 near Columbus.

INDOT will host a public information meeting to discuss the project and answer questions from the public on Monday, Feb. 12

INDOT says the $19.6 million project rebuilding six bridges at the southside interchange is expected to be completed by the end of the month.

The study will include most of I-65 and I-70 across Indiana and I-94 in northwestern Indiana. INDOT said last week it also wanted to take a closer look at possible tolls for I-465.

A law passed this year by the General Assembly required INDOT to investigate tolling with the intention of creating $5 billion in funding for roads and bridges.

The Indiana Department of Transportation says it plans to install a test section of barrier wall delineators Friday along the right side of northbound Interstate 65 in southern Johnson County.

Crews are doing mainentance and modernaization work on bridges spanning the northside of the downtown area, from Senate Avenue to Alabama Street.

Southbound Interstate 65 lanes will be routed to the northbound side of the roadway via a median crossover at mile marker 100.0 during overnight hours Friday.
